These are just a few examples of native plants that would do well in and around Crooked Lake. Using native plants reduces the need for irrigation and fertilizer, and aquatic plants provide much needed food and shelter for wildlife. It is important to have a natural shoreline to prevent erosion and to avoid having fertilizer, herbicide, and chemicals from your lawn leeching into the lake.
One of the places you can buy these and other native plants is Wilcox Nursury & Landscape in Largo, FL (between Clearwater and St. Pete Beach).
