On December 19, 2023, the Defenders of Crooked Lake received a presentation by Chris Daly, owner of Landdaly, LLC, regarding his proposed development on property near the intersection of Cody Villa Road and Wes Mann Road. As presented, the development would consist of a Recreational Vehicle (RV) Park with 141 spots on 47 acres.
On January 5, 2024, on behalf of the Defenders of Crooked Lake Board of Directors, President Jim Tully sent a letter to the City Council of Frostproof requesting that the proposed development be rejected due to the project’s intensity in such an environmentally sensitive area.
The City of Frostproof is still processing the application for the proposed re-zoning. On January 10, the Central Florida Regional Planning Council, on behalf of the City of Frostproof, responded to Landdaly, LLC with comments on the proposal and a request for additional information. At such time that the City deems the application complete, a public hearing in front of the City of Frostproof Planning and Zoning Committee and the City Council will be scheduled.
The Defenders of Crooked Lake will continue to monitor the progress of this application and keeps its members notified of any developments.
